The one off gifts from individuals and friends are most rewarding in a number of ways.

The following are not all by any means, but are some of the most memorable over the last years.

Since the start of GETS many one off donations and offers of help have been received. Our sincere thanks to everyone who has thought of GTS or GETS over the first 10 years.

From an emotional and spirit lifting point of view, gifts are an incredible boost. Of course there were times especially in the first few years, when I just wonder how we were going to manage and as if a prayer was answered an unexpected gift would arrive. From a practical point of view, unexpected gifts allow us to do more than just survive - they help the project be more efficient and effective

From our real start in 1998, GTS has been lucky enough to receive gifts, in the very early days when I had no idea where the money would come from and we had to pay an electric bill for the office at Holiday Beach - an envelope arrived with a cheque for £50 and a note (with no address) saying "I'm sure you can use this for your project"

Members of my own family have been fantastically generous especially my mother Avril and step father Peter who made large cash contributions to the GTS development fund in our early struggles.
My Aunty Eve Fuller makes regular contributions and provides constant support with her interest and enthusiasm for the project.

My ex-wife Helen was fantastically supportive not only in financial terms, but in her patience and help over the thousands of hours spent on the website and dealing with members and non members enquiries and my long trips away to Gambia. Without Adam (my son) the GTS Bar and Restaurant would be very different, his help and support has meant many more people are now being employed than we ever dreamed would be possible.

Business friends have provided small and large sponsorships and individual members have given most generous gifts as well as raising money through a variety of sponsored events.

Members visiting the Gambia, give books and pens, clothing, shoes, toiletries of all sorts and every bit helps as well as dontions of money.

There are simply too many kind and generous people to name individually, but every single contribution is special and very much appreciated.
