Conmen - How GTS can help
Avoid helping conmen, they are difficult to bring to
justice
or name and shame so that others are not taken in by them. These are selfish
people, depriving the genuine needy of help, after 10 years we still get
caught occasionally.

GTS offers members a safer way of supporting the really needy people.
Our hosts are in
Gambia all the time, they know the genuine people and they know the ones
operating the scams at all levels of Gambian society.
We cannot say which person is genuine or which person isn't, that would not be acceptable in Gambian society - but we can introduce you to people we know are genuine and hard working, people who really will benefit from your help and we are very happy to monitor these people for you.
They know GTS is helping them, they know that without these checks, generous tourists are just at the mercy of clever but selfish conmen.
They know the conmen are stopping them getting the help that they really need, so they are happy that GTS is monitoring them.
If you have been conned, GTS can help and advise you on the courses of action you can take.
In the past we have added conmen to our rogues gallery, (the purpose of this is to get your problems sorted out and provide an area for both parties to put their cases. It also provides a warning for others not to become involved with these known people.) We no longer operate the Rogues Gallery on the website, these rogues do not like being brought to attention and sadly have friends in high places who can mkae the soirt of trouble that would stop us operating in Gambia.
After our first visit in 1997, we were shocked to find one of the hotel entertainers that our kids loved, had been conning people and of course two of our own trusted partners who both tried to destroy GTS and steal all of the GTS assets. You could not meet a nicer more friendly guys.
But to be a successful conman you have to be convincing.
