Tunko started with GTS in December 2003 - Kabs and I met her while we were waiting for our charity registration papers - we got chatting and the outcome was that Tunko joined us to run GTS trading and the Rural Gambia trips.

I had wanted a lady host working for GTS for sometime as we have more and more parties of ladies and families with children and as the whole idea of the trip is to show visitors rural Gambian life and a ladies point of view is essential, as much of the survival of Gambia is down to the work carried out by women in the rural areas..

Tunko was delighted and rather surprised at the suggestion of her learning to drive - she has just started a months course of lessons and we hope that she will be experienced enough to be doing some of the GTS driving by next year on the rural trip and to meet guests at the airport.

Since Tunko started in December 2003, she has established herself as a most popular member of the GTS hosting team as well as with our existing staff. Tunko immediately made a difference to GTS Trading where sales soared and she is now in charge of purchasing as well as the organisation of the Rural Gambia trip - Good luck with the driving
