At the end of the Kotu Beach road, opposite the Bakotu Hotel, the broad, sunken approach is lined with eucalyptus, palms, tamarisks and tamed garden. An African portal on black sculpted beams opens on to the main reception lounge

To the left, is the Kingfisher Bar and ahead, the main restaurant, stairs & phones. And to the right, the reception ad well stocked Top-Shop. Beside the offices upstairs, the three in one conference hall is more often used for video shows, or your rep's welcome meeting.

All rethatched in 1999 (in nyantangho, elephant-grass), the restaurants form an L-shape by the pool. Most guests eat under the peaked thatch outside. A rotunda at the end is for the non smokers.

Around the free-form swimming-pool and the roped-off children's pool, sunloungers overflow on to the lawns. By the 3 beach-gates, the effervescent entertainment team is based, beach-towels & bikes can be hired.

Behind the pool, the round Bellengo ('Bass drum') disco doubles as a daytime TV room. The stage & entertainment area alongside are the largest around, facing the pool's sundecks with these as an enlarged 'auditorium'.

Beyond the children's Tulundula ('Playing-place'), 4 almost identical, 3 floored blocks house 258 stylish rooms, all either twin or double plus convertible sofa, and all but 12 with bath & shower, balcony, internal phone & quiet central air conditioning.

The property ends, against the Kotu Beach Hotel, in a volleyball pitch and 2 floodlit tennis courts.
