We got back from The Gambia last night and I wanted to write to you to say how much GTS improved our holiday.

I have to confess to wondering what the GTS trips would be like, they were far better than a very poor trip we took with one of the operators! We did and saw things with GTS that we would otherwise not have seen

As far as I am concerned, anyone visiting The Gambia should join GTS if for no other reason than to get the airport pickup which saved us £75 off the price of our holiday (5 people) by not paying for the transfers! Compare that with the £40 to join GTS and the £10 for the Taxi to the airport and people could help the locals and save money at the same time!

Also, my GTS card saved my a huge amount of hassle! I went to Standard Chartered bank in Banjul to get money from the ATM. It was out of action and so I went to the cashier. They said I had to have my passport. When I complained (with reasonable good humour) that I didn't need my passport for the ATM they accepted my GTS card as my proof of ID!

Finally, I read about Baba Jahateh and if Kathleen does not re-appear I will pay for his fees for the year (how much does a bike cost in The Gambia?).
