GAMBIA TOURISM CONCERN - NEW SITE SEPT 2000 at
www.gambiatourismconcern.com
Loads of text information divided into various sections

The offices of Concern are in the grounds of the Bakadaji Hotel, the Kololi side of the Palma Rima Hotel.

It is quite appropriate that Concern should have its home here, the owner, a Gambian came to the Atlantic resorts from Bakadaji village, he was uneducated and illiterate, but has developed a very successful hotel and restaurant BUT more importantly has ploughed much of the profit back into the building and running of a school in his village so that others have a better start than he had.

Concern publishes a monthly magazine that are sold by previous 'bumsters' as a way of providing proper employment to them, I met one a friend that Foday had been to school with. He maybe sells 4 a day. Tourists are suspicious and tend to be approached by so many people that genuine causes are rejected without consideration.

GTS hopes that it can work with Concern and is currently negotiating to sell the magazine at our shop in Kololi and will print bits from Concern as they appear and are relevant to GTS members.
