There will be as many locals as tourists at these events, the rules are simple get your opponent on the ground by any means possible.

There are two different arena's but the locals know which one will hold the event each Sunday.

Entrance seems to vary but is around 15D sometimes 25D

The team of 'crowd exciters' goes round with drums and whistles presenting the wrestlers before each bout and you can give a few dalasi to your favourites.

The procession is then repeated for each winner, so you can give a few more dalasi to the victor.

There is a good atmosphere and watching the crowds reaction is all part of it, the event is little more than an hour in the evening before it gets dark, but it is a pleasant way to end a Sunday, especially if you have spent an hour or so looking round Serekunda before the event and follow it with a meal in one of the many 'local' restaurants after.

Even on a Sunday SereKunda has a hustle and bustle about it that lets you know that this is the central town in The Gambia.
