In the back streets of Kololi village, you can walk but it is probably best to arrange transport to this small bar and garden that comes alive on reggae disco nights, when the place is buzzing with activity, music dance and smoke. BUT check that there is something on otherwise it reverts to a local sleepy bar and restaurant. The atmosphere is just unbeatable. Entrance varies but between 20 and 50D depending on the DJ playing. In Gambian society the women mainly stay at home and the men go out together, but there are festival nights when everyone is out and those are especially brilliant nights. There is never trouble and everyone is so chilled and having a good time that that it really doesn't matter if you are Black or White, young or old. I can throughly recommend it, BUT it is best late, from 11 pm till 3 or 4 in the morning. It is a good idea to have a host with you, to sort our transport and also as a minder, tourists do get tapped for resources even in this hot hot of chill. When you leave in the early hours, consider going to a local bakery for fresh Tapalapa - the local bread - much better than the commercial varieties and truly beautiful when just baked.
