The Street Entrance

This is a Restaurant and Art Gallery, with a Palatial set of Lavatories, with an open Balcony over looking the Port.

Let me explain the lavatory - The Gambia does not have many public lavatories, this is after all an emerging country. So tourists generally have to use the hotels or make do. This visit is of interest just for the plumbing, if it were not for the other delights it offers.

Make a visit here for a meal or a snack when you come to visit Banjul, it is just down from Albert Market on the right hand side of the road, you are best to walk down the left sdie so you will see it. Started in 1986 it is a joint Danish / Gambian venture.

The place is a museum of African Art, but sells all of the exhibits and replaces them with new ones - supporting the local peoples art and craft industry. We particularly like it for the wide range of products it exhibits. This tends to be art rather than tourist souvenirs.
