On the way to the Abuko nature reserve or Lamin or Brikama you will pass the livestock market on the right just past the Gamtel offices. A variety of animals are bought and sold here and this will not be everyone's taste for a visit. This is the real Gambia, people from the villages bring their stock here for sale and as you approach festivals like Tobaski, when goats are sacrificed ( remembering the time when abraham was going to sacrifice Isaac but God provided a ram in a thicket) then Abuko is bustling with buyers and sellers. It is quite a spectacle. Ask before you take pictures. Haggling is part of the culture even local to local and it makes interesting viewing watching the local process which can take a very long time.
