This is the closest you'll get at the moment to a Gambian Hypermarket. At the Fajara end of Pipeline Road where it joins Atlantic Avenue. Air-conditioned, large and one of the best selections of 'whatever' that you can get. The deli stall is a delight, and very reasonable, The fillets are sold whole and are vacuum packed and the most beautiful steak I have ever tasted and the cheapest. The cheeses and salami's are equally good Marouns, is the largest and probably the best, it is just nice once in a while to revisit a European like environment shopping baskets and all, along with really effective air conditioning No discounts here, everything is priced, but not vastly more expensive than you would pay in a good English village shop. You name it, Marouns have got it, including Twinings Earl Grey Tea Bags and Oxfords Old English Marmalade - the British embassy can't be very far away. Oh! Just up the road? Well, there you go then. If you need it - you'll probably get it at Marouns. 5 Top
