In addition to massages the sisters do hair care, braiding, manicure and pedicure.

Having never had a massage and being of the generation that equates massages and massage parlors with other activities, when Helen said she thought a massage might be good for her back, I decided to have a go as well.

We met Sandra and Belima Tom-George, two Nigerian sisters who have run the Therapy Studio for several years from the number 2 hut at Leybatos' Motel and Restaurant in Fajara (see their own entry under Hotels and Lodges.

There are a number of options available and we went for the Aromatherapy massage at 200 D for 60 minutes.

As usual in situations where I am left horizontal for more than about 30 minutes I went to sleep I found it so relaxing and my neck after has not been so mobile for years, I suspect I will be back to see Belema on my next visit.

Helen really did not enjoy the experience and felt an hour in the sun would have been nicer - can't win them all I guess.

If you find yourself at Leybato - consider a massage as part of your day out. During the season they employ 3 assistants (2 boys and a girl and tend to be very busy so consider booking in advance at the moment use the Leybato number 497186 but soon the sisters will have a mobile phone
