The Waaw night club and disco is situated half way up the Main street in Kololi. Security exists on the main door, and stairs go up to the club and dance area, which has an open balcony the length of the premises.
There is a reasonably sized dance area with two bars.
Waaw is more intimate than the larger and newer Spybar and looks more crowded, giving it a busy atmosphere early in the evening.
There is no 'Happy Hour' but entrance is FREE during the week and 50D on Fridays and Saturdays.
Security will not allow hats to be worn or bags to be carried in.
The lavatories are fine - Waaw is a good place to spend some time.
The night we went to take photographs, security first wouldn't let us in then said no filming inside! Gambia can be like that - just a bit unpredictable.
Draw your own conclusions, but I prefer the friendlier and more reliable SpyBar.
(August 2001 - Waaw was mainly closed during the week and just open Friday and Saturday)
