Waaw UPDATE August 2009
WOW has been taken over recently and the new owners have contacted me regarding changes - FIRTS the name has changed and is now WOW and has been for some years!!
The Club is now open 7 dyas a week 365 days a year and tehrer is a charge of between D25 and D100 depending on the programme running on teh night you visit.
Hats are permitted and bags but security of course reserves the right to search you
The Club has two pool tables, a game costs D50

The Waaw night club and disco is situated half way up the Main street in Kololi. Security exists on the main door, and stairs go up to the club and dance area, which has an open balcony the length of the premises.
There is a reasonably sized dance area with two bars.
Waaw is more intimate than the larger and newer clubs and looks more crowded, giving it a busy atmosphere early in the evening.
Security will not allow hats to be worn or bags to be carried in, but these rules may change, like all in Gambia day to day is a bit unpredictable
The lavatories were fine when we went - Waaw is a good place to spend some time, but I have heard that it can be rather intimidating for ladies only unless they want the endless attention of young chancers.
The night we went to take photographs, security first wouldn't let us in at all, then said no filming inside! Gambia can be like that - I have never bothered to go back, you have to take it as you find it.
