The Rasta Garden is in Kololi village away from the main resort area, so you will need a local or a taxi to get there and back.

On every day except Friday, the Garden is a fairly ordinary snack and drinks venue, but on Friday Night from 10 till people go home the place is transformed into a reggae delight.

The atmosphere is fantastic, not because of the décor or even the music but because of the people. I have only seen any form of drunkenness from tourists, but as no one else is drunk, it never amounts to trouble, it is just rather embarrassing. Sadly, during august 2001 this was not totally so, more ad more of the rastaboys are drinking beer and can be very pushy, persistent and tedious when drunk, it may be better during the season!!

The local Gambians go to chill. The place is just heaving with dreeds and music to make you dance.

You have to pay an entrance fee on a Friday, I think it is 50D, but what ever it is it is worth it, have an easy Friday afternoon, don't go till about 11.30 and settle in till about 4. You can't get better if it's Reggae and all that goes with it that you're after.
