This amazing shot was sent to me by a GTS supporter Simon Cox, who was sent it with no credits from a website in Slovenia

It is an extraordinary visual shot, showing the whole flight route from the UK over The Bay of Biscay, Spain and sometimes Portugal, North Africa and the massive Western Sahara, looking like snow, through Mauritania, Senegal and finally to The Gambia river, just about where the green starts.

The night lights of cities in the shadow are almost as amazing.

Simon sent it with the message "I knew you wanted an aerial shot of Banjul, how about this one? maybe from higher than you expected."

The picture to the right is more what I expected - again sorry to the originator - I have no idea where this image came from apart from high above the mouth of the Gambia river. The very tip of little peninsular poking into the river from the right is Banjul and the lacework of creeks the 'bolongs' between denton Bridge and Lamin Lodge.
