The Yundum estate will have its own school, market and Mosque and will be set in grounds planted with trees and flowers, with wide roads built to a grid plan.

The TAF Holding Company has started the first ever modern housing complex along the new road from the airport to the Senegambia resorts.
The houses are built to a high standard and have a two and three bedroom design, the 3 bedroom house has a master bedroom with en-suite facilities.
There is an open plan lounge / dining room, a large kitchen, shower room and seperate lavatory, in addition to the bedrooms. The houses come on a plot around 15 x 20m and are completed with a fully laid garden.
Each house has all public amenities installed, mains water, electric and telephone and each has suitable parking for one or two cars.
The two bedroom units cost £11250 and the 3 bedroom houses are £14832. Payments can be made over a two year period or by the time the house is completed. There are three phases the first will be complete by December this year and the final phase by December 2002.
The houses are aimed at a market that can afford this price tag, the hoardings advertise these as low income units but we fear few local Gambians will be able to afford these luxury houses unless they have relatives or sponsors from abroad.

In January 2002, TAF will start the Brufut development of over 400 houses. these will be much larger and will start at around £24000 for a detached 3/4 bedroom luxury house very near the sea.
All Taf houses are currently bought on a 100 year lease.
