after his circumcision ceremony
When I met Buno and his family is was late evening after heavy rainfall, the three boys in the family were dressed in long blue and white haftans, held away from their bodies by each of then. They were not happy looking chaps, having just been cicumcised during a local ceremony just a few days before.
Foday explained that they were in a lot of pain but in a couple of weeks they would be better - at present according to the mother they are going by taxi to the clinic each day. I suspected that this was a veiled request for money.
Foday has a battle to make sure the eldest Boy Buno goes to school each day, the family is poor and would probably spend the education money on other things if they had the chance.
