UPDATE - On the 5th May 2005 - I had a letter from the Onetel customer services, to say that having looked into my account, I still owed them £99.15 and that they were passing the case to their credit collectors CCM.
These are the guys I paid on 28th February.

Onetel obviously find this all frightfully funny - signing the letter . . . . .

Yours sincerely

Customer Services

Well I'd certainly agree with that.

If you currently use Onetel - consider moving to Telediscount and send Onetel a letter saying you think their Customer Services is Pretty Sad as well.

April 23 2005 - On returning from Gambia at the end of February 2005, among my post I discovered a summons to attend Kingston County Court for non payment of a Onetel Phone bill.

I rang immediately, paid the bill and offered my explanation, that I had been out of the country working with the GTS charity for 5 months.

I was put through to the so called 'helpline' hosted somewhere abroad and answewred by a heavily accented young man who kept saying "ziss is not in mia script peeese vait"

Anyway the outcome was the ONETEL would no longer provide me with their service because I was a debtor - Nice friendly customer services !!!

I wrote a letter explaining the situation to Onetel and did not even get a reply - The experince cost me double the cost of the calls used - Onetel policy with debtors and the calls to the helpline cost again.

Telediscount is infact much cheaper than Onetel, especially for calls abroad but not as easy to use as you have to use an access number BUT it can be used from any landline phone.

If you ever have problems with Onetel and thinking over their customer services - you probably will at some point

THEN

consider using TELEDISCOUNT instead

Onetel is renouned for servicing Junk email senders and people sending emails viaOnetel may well find problems with emails being returned as many ISP providers now block all Onetel emails as suspect JUNK Mail.
