Just to let you know that I had an absolutely fantastic time working with the children and staff in these 2 schools and everyone should be proud of their achievements over the week or so out there.

Jerry was and is an absolute diamond and Kabs was brilliant with all of his help and advice.

Can't thank EVERYONE at GTS in Senegambia enough for everything that they did for us during our visit. Tim and the boys also thoroughly enjoyed their time.

Lesley is now hoping to raise the money to build a sports hall at Youna and alon with sam and Ben will sponsor one of the children they coached.

Lesley wrote on her return:-

It has been a major life - changing experience for me as I am now chomping at the bit in order to arrange the next trip - whether that be on my own or with Tim and 2 other lads. I have great admiration for the Gambian people and Jerry was a mine of useful information and shared his knowledge of the people and culture with me which I found very interesting. You have a 'star' in the making there as well as all of the other staff who were so friendly and welcoming.

Words are not enough to convey how much I have appreciated the visit and being able to bring a smile to those children's faces and to be greeted on our return visits the following days at both schools was extremely touching. Have achieved far more than ever expected, so much so that we now want to be able to provide a multi-purpose hall for the school at Youna.

All in all, however an absolutely fantastic week and some quality time spent in both schools hopefully will bring the sport on in the Gambia. I hope to return asap as I have said and will liase with Jerry (who I consider to be a wonderful friend now) on any issues with the things we are now going to do. I always said it would be an eye opener but didn't realise I would leave part of myslef in the country too!! (you know what I mean I think as you have set up GTS and for that - well done - it's a fantastic charity for the good of the gambian people)
