Jill Crawshaw, writing in a recent 'NOW' edition (August 2001?) Describes The Gambia as matching the Caribbean and Indian Ocean temperatures but with prices well below either. "Gambia is jetting its way up the holiday charts". Jill feels that the 'enterprise culture' along the beaches maybe too much for some tourists with offers of anything from ear-cleaning, drumming lessons and guiding services to marijuana and marriage proposals - never mind your age, shape or size. Jill however adds that you should not be put off, The Gambia offers Africa in the raw at very afordable prices. Now's advice 'NOW' really had nothing bad to say about Gambia as a tourist resort If you decide on Gambia as a holiday venue consider joining GTS to make it even better by using the GTS hosts in Gambia and GTS UK for advice before you even start your packing. GTS picks you up from the airport so you get to start your holiday a day early and make so much more of your last day if you us GTS to take you for a final day trip, ending at the airport. 5 Top
