These notes are decorative and very 'French' in look and atmosphere, not surprising as this was a French colony.
The 10000 franc note is probably one of my favourites in terms of design.
Tourists to Gambia who visit Senegal aresuprised when changingtheir money thattheyget millions of francs - the conversion to Dalasi is bad enough.
If you are a UK tourist you should know that most travel insurances to Gambia DO NOT cover Senegal - so if a trip to Senegal is on your agenda check your insurance policy and get the right cover.
