Red, the author

I like to sleep with my family
But it isvery hard
And then the house was small and very hot
When one person has disease, all of us normally get it

You know why?. . . .

Because we all drink in one cup
and we all wash with on soap
and what you wash your body with

And we all sleep together

Gambian families are often very large, it is not uncommon for a compound, (an enclosed area of ground 40m by 40m) to have many house/rooms, in which the whole extended family lives. Between 30 and 40 men, women and children can live in a compound like Reds
