Gambia Tourist Support

A Muslim Perspective

Having spent increasing amounts of time in Gambia over the last 5 years, it is hard not to be impressed with the nature of Islam as practised in Gambia

Islam 4 Today site

I have been aware of this site for a couple of years and it continues to grow in size and authority.

I believe the editor is a convert to Islam and interestingly spends time in The Gambia each year.

Having done some comparitive reading, it is clear that the Jewish and Christian prophets would have had great 'One-to Ones' with Muhammad.

There are a number of sites dealing with Islamic issues but apart from a few gripes there is one site that I think is outstanding . . . .

Islam for TodayApart from the slowness of the initial load, caused by having a very long home page with numerous pictures and links - the wait is well worth while.

At present it provides a more or less balanced view of the conflict with Iraq, with an overall sympathy for the civilians caught up in the affair.

Sadly it is a site with advertising links and the inevitable popups, I see it is currently requesting donations, maybe when those come in the editor will remove the advertising which in my opinion spoils the integrity of the site.

Without preaching or trying to convert - it provides an excellent insight into wide ranging aspects of Islam many from the perspective of recent converts to Islam. On Muslims in general, women, daily practises etc

The editor provides such diverse links that this has to be one of the very best Islamic resources available on the web.
