A beautiful location but this un pretencious hotel nestles between the classier Kololi Beach Club, Kairaba Beach and Tafbel hotels.

From Kololi's centre, the approach is left past the Scala restaurant and the track drops down towards the hotel across some cultivated land usually growing sorrel (used to flavour a deep red drink called Wanjo) to the large turning & parking circle.

GTS had a telecentre here before leaving because of the typical local business dealings, that put so many visitors off helping the local people.

The gardens abound with colour & birds and the neat, partially thatched, terraced rows of rooms line the path straight to the sea and are close enough to Bijilo Park to hear the monkeys at night.

There are 15 double and 58 triple suites, all with bath or shower, plus fridges, fans and/or air con all for hire from the hotels reception area.

The beach has been seriously eroded so the parasols and sunloungers are all now inside the hotel grounds, and it contunues to loose land to the sea each year.

The swimming pool is at the hotels centre and one of its main features. By it is the bar, a table tennis bay, the restaurant for breakfasts, snacks and evening meals has been decorated recently and meals are often take at tables round the pool.

This hotel was our first taste of The Gambia and I have to say we loved it, but over the years Happy Corner (the shops just outside) weren't really happy any more, the Happy Tea was making was stopped, the barbicues at the shops and evening drumming lessons were all stopped - even the shops had to close at 6 pm, they always stayed open till late and created a buzz that the place more recently lacked - hopefully, this will return now the owner, a Gambian is back in charge.

GTS is negotiating a discount for members and this will be announced if and when agreed.
