Gambians amuse themselves and each other with stories, they are great story tellers - See Monkey Dancing. In a poor country like Gambia you see the children playing with the things around them, rims off bicycles wheels, old car tyres or just small sticks and stones with patterns in the sand or small hollows in the sand. The rules are often complex and I have yet to spend enough time with the local children to have a good enough grasp to explain the rules. Older people play a form of noughts and crosses but with much bigger boards and more pieces, many people play Ludo and Worro or Mancala is a very popular board game found on sale at most carving centres. Cards are often seen and a favourite game is "Crazy Eight" deceptively simple it is fast and great fun with lots of skill involved once you master the simple rules 5 Top
