Did you visit the 2003 CLA GameFair at Harewood House?

Let me know what you thought of the largest outdoor celebration of the UK Countryside.

Hopefully more GTS members will come to the fair in 2004 at Blenheim Palace on the 23-25 of July.

I look forward to seeing you there.

It was wonderful to be visited by GTS members Jean and Pete Beckingham, who brought with them a large box of school equipment, in the hope that GTS will get some container space suggested by a UK funded farm now operating near Banjul airport.

We hope to be running trips to the farm, that is pioneering commercial farming of potatoes and many other crops currently imported into Gambia. The farm currently employs over 80 staff and GTS is looking forward to providing working holiday volunteers to help train Gambian staff.

Also visiting the Fair was Angela Sarr with her son Tam and a host of young people that Angel fosters in Leeds. Angela is currently buying land in Gambia - and hope to allow GTS to use it for a number of years to grow crops for the restaurant. eventually Angela hope to set it up as an international exchange base for young people including Guides and Scouts to stay and camp in Gambia.

Among the many long standing GTS members, Angela has bought her way into our hearts by providing Russian hot fruit crumble and custard to the Glynn family working at the Gamefair this year.

The Rusling family arrived on the Saturday, all visitors to Gambia and although I didn't see them they had a most enjoyable family day out with a selection of grand children. A day is not long enough was the response we'll book a hotel room for Blenheim and do it properly over a couple of days.

Exhibitors are always most generous when they discover the Gambia link and we have added a number of gifts to our summer & winter fund raiser.

A stuffed tiger from Julie at JMS International.

A leather keyring from Itailian leather company Machiavelli.

A couple of bottles of Champagne from Stephen Freeman the official caterer at the event.

A nice bottle of Marques del Turia anonomously.

The offer of a free ferry passage for a car and four passengers to the Isle of Man or Ireland from Mr Taylor of SeaCat.

We were also given a number of lovely cotton shirts, which will be printed with the GTS logo and two will be added to the gifts already on offer.

2 Complimentary day passes to the CLA GameFair at Blenheim Palace.
