GTS Kololi has it's own well which can be used for washing and the toilet, if the water is off.

In April 2004, after a month of severe water cuts - GTS built a water tower with a storage tank to provide at least a tank full of mains water for the day.

Although GTS does what it can to make your stay conmfortable and provides an maid service for daily cleaning, shopping and laundry services are negotiable at a reasonable price - GTS cannot be held liable if the Gambian Service Providers fail to provide the mains services due to no fault of GTS.

Generator, the house has a generator that can be used for guests the cost is £1 for the first hour or part of it and 50p for subsequent hours, this is arramged fhrough the house keeper.

Any visitor returning to the GTS Kololi or Manjai compounds after DARK - are strongly advised to travel by taxi or to take a GTS host to escort them home.

GTS cannot be held responsible for members safety when they are not accompanied by a GTS host your holiday Insurance should cover you for personal loss and where applicable GTS will accompany you to the Police to obtain an incident report - that is necessary for insurance claims.

** Deposit Terms
Bookings are confirmed when the 50% deposit is paid BUT until that time the accommodation remains available.

Should a booking need to be changed or cancelled a % will be retained depending on the notice given and if the room is relet.

50% 60 days notice
75% 30 days notice

Where the weeks are subsequently rebooked 50% of the money retained will be returned to you.

Comments to GTS

GTS has taken a full 3 bedroom house in Kololi, it has up to three double bedrooms available for members happy to share the other facilities that the house has to offer.

The house is very pleasant with mains water and electricity**(See News), it has a good sized living room, a small but well equipped kitchen and an indoor shower and toilet.

There is a small and private back yard area for drying clothes & a small front verhanda for bicycles etc and the house has it's own ancillary well, so in the case of water cuts there is still water for bathing and washing. In April 2004 GTS fitted a reserve water tank, providing a tank of mains water in the event of water cuts.

The compound is securely enclosed and has Mango and Banana trees growing in the grounds.

The house is situated in Kololi - a 15 minute stroll from the GTS office and the beach & 10 minutes from the Senegambia Holiday centre.

Each room costs £65 a week inclusive of normal services (but exclusive of the generator see below**) and provides GTS members with an excellent self catering option. £160 a week where the same party wishes to book the whole house. (ie exclusively - irrespective of the number of rooms occupied)

A deposit of half the rent must be made after the booking is confirmed & within 4 weeks of occupancy, the balance must be paid before occupancy and can be paid in The Gambia.**

A refundable deposit of £100 (**subject to costs of repairing any damage, replacing lost or broken items) must be paid before occupancy. And will be returned after repairs and replacements have been made.

GTS has bikes that members staying in the compound can hire for their stay and we can arrange transport for trips as required. The compound is a genuine 20 minute walk from the GTS Office - Bar and Restaurant and the sea. But is just a minute from the BB Highway, where local taxis can be taken to SereKunda, Kotu, Palma Rima or Senegambia (Kololi) for just a few dalasi per person.

GTS offers all members a FREE on 'arrival transfer service' from the airport, this is available to visitors using the hotels or for Flight Only travelers.

For your return trip we suggest the last day includes a trip out, ending at the airport 'check in' so that you get the very most from your stay. Alternatively we can arrange just the transfer to the airport which costs £12.50

Non GTS members, the Kololi house is only available to GTS members.

All guest are requested to provide a copy of their passport with the original as verification before moving into GTS member accommodation.

GTS member Andrea took these pictures after Kabs had installed new furniture & a new Cooker and Fridge at the end of the 2004 season - the timber was to make the frame for a water tower - necessary because of prolonged water daytime water cuts during April and May 2004 - It is now installed and the taps and shower are fully working.
