11 members of of GES met on Friday the 29th July to vote on a change to the name of the organistion (Gambia Education Support was deemed too alike Gambian Education Trust by the Charity Commission) and so the name of GES now has been changed to GeTS.

The motion was passed unanomously and the meeting closed 5 minutes after it had opened.

Members remained for around 30 minutes discussing GeTS, its work and its relationship with GTS.

The CC has said that our registration should go through within 15 working days of receiving our amended documents so we hope to have full registration by the end of August.

The registration of GeTS will have an affect on the work of GTS( the parent organisation of GeTS in The Gambia). The work of the two organisations will diverge with GTS continuing to supporting GeTS but concentration on Member services and employment initiatives.

GeTS staff in Gambia will concentrate on implementing Educational and Social projects and control all sponsorship issues.
