Sainabou lives with her mother, sibling and grandmother, but her grandmother looks after her education and welfare. Her grandmother works in the market, which is where they earn an income. Angela Sarr arranged the sponsors for Sainabou and she visits the child and the compound whenever she is in the Gambia. Sainabou is improving at school as she was not achieving very well before. Due to the sponsorship she is receiving home tutoring to help her and this acheiving good results.

She is studying English, maths, science, social and environmental studies, Islamic religious studies, quantitative, verbal aptitude, letter writing and composition. Sainabou enjoys sports and is doing well at school, according to her class teacher.

The sponsors also provide the family with food for Festival occasions such as Tobaski and Ramadan and help out with clothing.
