The sponsorship came about when Deborah and family visited the Gambia in January 2005. Jerreh and Deborah went to visit Ndey's school and asked the head teacher if she could allocate a most needy student from her pupils. Therefore Ndey was lucky to be the one.

Her father was a very active man in education and development of the country, sadly, he died one month before this visit to the school. However, Jerreh, Deborah and family went to visit Ndey's compound and sadly met her mother wearing a mourning dress, which was very moving for Deborah and the family.

From there they gave her books and pencils. Now Deborah pays for Ndey's education and she is doing very well in class. She is not far from the school, a 10 minute walk. Ndey is very happy about the sponsorship and her mother is very grateful.
