Fatou Jarju was born on 10th July 1990. She got 3 Brothers and 1 Sister.

She is attending Charles Jaw Memorial Junior Secondary School in grade 7 this academic year.

Fatou studies Mathematics, English Language, Social and Environmental Studies, General Science, Agricultural Science, Home Economics and French Language.

Her best subjects are English Language, French Language and Science. According to Mr Ceesay (Class Teacher), Fatou got aggregate 9 and a term position of 22 out of 45 pupils in her class. Fatou's aim is to be a Journalist in near future.

Her hobbies are debates and playing skip. Fatou stays in Faji Kunda Village and travels 15 minutes to school.

Her father (Deceased) was a subsistence farmer and her Mother (Deceased) was selling roasted groundnut to earn their living.

According to Mrs May Rooney (previous GTS sponsorship coordinator), she could recall that since her first time in the Gambia, she came to know Fatou for the first time when she lost her mother. May confirmed that every year one member of Fatou's family has died. In March 2004, her Father finally died. Now, Fatou is staying with the first wife of her Father.

Therefore, Fatou really need support to achieve her education goal.
