The students and teachers were not put off by the disadvantages of wind or bright sunlight or heat and even the head teacher had a go and so enjoyed it that he said he will take it up and introduce it as a lesson each week at tyhe school

Lesley and Tim decided that what Youna needed was a school hall like the one at Tujering and GTS has undertaken to get engineers in to the hall at Tujering to provide a detailed estimate and design of a suitable hall for Youna. Working through GES/GTS the money raised will go much further because GES will be able to claim Gift Aid relief and GTs will ensure that the money does not leak away as charity funding often does.

Already Jerreh from GTS has met with the community who have agreed to make the blocks and carry out the work as their contribution to this community program, making the hall a community owned venture that the village can have a joint pride in.

Badminton is actually ideally suited to Gambians, who have great sporting stamina and enthusiasm and it is hoped that some really good players will be found over the coming years
