"As requested, some thoughts,

I have been teaching Badminton some 14 years and have had many good exciting experiences developing players. Whether it has been just for social fun or getting them to recognised England Potential.

None of this compares to the experience I have just had in the Gambia.

I have worked with probably 5,000 young people over the last 14 years but never met the kind of young people that I just have come across in the Gambia.

Without doubt a life changing experience, the Gambian children have so little but have a lot to give.

Seeing the School at Younna and the poor facilities, seeing the enthusiasm of the children given an opportunity to play a sport they have never even seen before, just gave me energy to teach them nonstop for three hours in the baking sun.

By the end I was physically and mentally drained but I was so determined to give each and everyone as much as I could.

All I could see was big smiles and enthusiasm, all enjoyed it and it was pleasure to teach them.

Tremendously rewarding.

We must raise funds and build them a Multi Purpose Sports Hall

For them to enjoy the sport properly they need indoor accommodation.

These children deserve the right to enjoy sport.

I am determined to give them that right.
