AGM of GES
Francis was elected as the Chairman and in her absence Sarah Travers was elected Treasurer
Many thanks were expressed to Helen Glynn who provided the buffet, the other Helen is Helen Murtagh, Tony's wife whio is currently unable to travel to Gambia as she was recently diagnosed as being DVT prone. David Brodie, who had kindly volunteered as treasurer stepped down in favour of Sarah, who as the CLA Gamefair Accountant offered to stand for the first year to see GES established as a charity. The Executive will meet again in September 2004 and the next AGM will be in June 2005 Comments to GES |
Ironically Julie and I were both ill before the event, so neither of us felt our best and actually considered cancelling the meeting, but decided that some people would already be on their way. As is was the excellently attended meeting had 16 representatives from England, Wales and Scotland. This photo file captures most of those attending. The meeting started shortly after 12 noon and finished after a buffet lunch in the mid afternoon. Feedback has been excellent and the newly elected executive hope to get the charity application off within the next couple of weeks. Apart form being ill the weekend marked my penultimate birthday before retirement and the Glyn Kids were down for the weekend - apart from indee who had Uni examinations.
