Many thanks Lynette the pictures are wonderful, but it is so great to hear your much deserved praise for Tom and Rachel who have been busy at it for weeks and certainly look as if they are doing well on it.
I really hope you can make it back to help GTS at some point in the future.
It makes such a difference to the kids and the teachers.
I love the pictures, they are the veru best I have had from the school since it opened - The children look good and I am delighted the school is now truly up and running.
FUNDING
The Bakoteh school needs £100 every month to pay staff salaries at present we have donations of less than £50 a month and desperately need more support. GTS provided over £2000 to get the school rebuilt and refurbished but we are struggling to pay the teachers and keep the school open.
The aim of GTS is to earn the money in Gambia by providing tourist services and accommodation but it doesn't cover the staffing costs of the school.
It just needs 10 people to donate £1 a month all year to pay the staff salaries

I went on a holiday in April 2004 and met Rachel and Tom currently helping out at one of the schools in Gambia.
I have just been browsing your website and noticed that there was a picture of those 2 on it and it really made my day.
I was truly honoured to meet such friendly and dedicated people, and they invited me to the school to help out for a morning.
The kids were wonderful, a very happy bunch and they made
me feel very welcome.
Rachel and Tom were in the middle of hand painting, so I helped out and I have attached a few pictures of the fun we had!!
I hope to make it back to the Gambia one day soon, possibly as a volunteer.

We would love you, like Lynette to have your holiday transformed by visiting the school and maybe some of you will see your way to paying just £1 a month to keep it open and the staff paid. Thanks in advance
