Gambia - Wassau & Georgetown
|
|
The Northern road now dips south to Wassau and Kuntaur, we are told that there are boat trips from Kuntaur to baboon Island so called because tis is where rescued animals from Abuko are brought so they can be returned to the wild. The road now cuts off a big loop in the river straight down to Georgetown. The Island's western end houses Bird Safari Camp - we hope GTS members will take the opportunity to visit on the 4 day, 3 night special we have agreed with BSC History watchers may want to go north to see the Mungo Parks memorial stone, other will keep south of the river now either on to Basse or back to Soma. |
