We have wrestle with the name problem for months but you just can't have two restaurants called Dardeema. When old Uncle Manneh wanted GTS to support the Dardeema restaurant, then later asked us to take it over, GTS adopted the name Dardeema.

With Uncle Manneh's sad death in 2002, Bakary Manneh, the oldest son of Uncle Manneh, decided not to rent Dardeema to GTS, but to rent it to others or even take it over as a family concern again, until their lease runs out in October 2004.

We are so pleased that the remaining staff are loyal and happy to stay with us to make the GTS Garden Restaurant an even bigger success than they made at Dardeema.

So the existing premises will stay in GTS hands till the end of December 2002, but from January 2003, Dardeema will no longer be a GTS enterprise supporting GTS staff or Gambian education, you will have to walk just 10 more paces to visit us. our kitchens will be better, and we think the garden courtyard will make an excellent venue for our wall artists, our bar and of course the food we now serve that has made our reputation along with the cleanliness of the whole operation.

When you visit the Gambia, look for GTS and you'll find the best bar and restaurant in Senegambia as well as the cleanest kitchen and lavatories.
