Be aware of Scams & Conmen

Since the GTS site was started in April 2000, I have had reason to publish quite a few accounts of people who have been conned while on holiday in The Gambia. This has never been done to frighten away 'would be visitors', but to make sure people take care and avoid the embarrassment of being conned.

It is so easy to fall for a hard luck story, or believe someone loves you. Conmen are so convincing because they have had loads of practice, so you are not the only person to be conned. They get away with it and carry on conning because most of us are too embarrassed to tell people that they have been conned..

Most conmen are really nice guys, very charming, very believable, very dishonest and actually not caring, charming or nice at all. - BEWARE -
