This is most definitely The Gambia's grandest hotel away from the sea shore, none other is quite so sumptuous. The 2.5 acres of land are well planted with mature trees, even though the hotel only opened in 1998. There is very tight security and lots of off street parking. The El Morocco Restaurant is housed in an air conditioned marquee. The whole place exudes wealth even the suites are given delux names, the Junior, Deluxe, Lion, Pillar and Royal, all 17 are air-conditioned; 2 have private swimming-pools, others have 4 poster beds. Suites have bathrobes and slippers, shoe-kit, sewing kit, hairdriers, toiletries, platters of baubles and in some suites, TV & fridge. There are split-level bathrooms and the showers are not in cubicles but marbled areas. The 'antique' furniture is not actually antique but looks good, there are large balconies and the outside lounging areas are strewn with ornamental coconuts and even lacquered ostrich eggs. The clubhouse in one corner is just that: an arched, split-level room in tropical pink & white that, with wicker furniture, ceiling-fans, shelves of books & occasional exhibitions. This could be colonial Kenya. If you get bored with this luxury there are four wheel drive vehicles ready to take guests to a secluded beach near Tujering. Bed & breakfast is 1920D - 2240D per night per suite 5 Top
