A far more politically biased article from the Observer, but GTS is delighted that this project is attracting such a broad base of local support.

It would be wrong to say that GTS had no political stance, but quite true that it has no affiliation with any political party in The Gambia or elsewhere.

There are universal rights and wrongs that everyone sees it but not everyone recognises what they see

Education and Employment are the most important factors in the countries development. GTS is trying to earn the resources in Gambia to provide employment and the funds for projects like this.

With the support of the locals, so much can be done to give people a pride in their achievments and environment.

The NAM of Serrekunda West, Hon Sulayman Joof, the KMC Deputy Mayor, Francis Mendy and other dignitaries were last Sunday the guests of the Bakoteh Community on the occasion of the launching of a 60,000 rehabilitation project for The Gambia Tourist Support (GTS) Bakoteh Nursery School.

Speaking on the occasion, the GTS Manager and Co-ordinator of the projetc said his organisatin is a charitable one which is now sponsoring aver 130 students at all levels of The Gambia educational system. "It is in that move that we welcomed the Bakoteh's Councillor's request for sponsoring the rehabilitation of the school as it is the GTS view that children are the future of this nation. He further explained that the project includes the rehabilitation of a two classroom block plus an office and their furniture. GTS Manager also revealed that for the sustainability of the project, his organisation will be responsible for the three staff wages to alleviate the load on Bakoteh people.

The Hon Sulayman Joof in his declaration said GTS initiative was laudible. He however registered it to the credit of the Bakoteh Ward councillor whom he described as a young dynamic youth who is committed to the development of his people. Hon Joof expressed his satisfaction over the turn out of Bakoteh Community for the work required in the rehabilitation. "I am a resident of this area and I can see people of various political affiliations are her working hand in hand with top civil servants unfolding their sleeves. That should be the way forward as there is time for politics and time for work" Hon Joof said.

The KMC Deputy Major Mr Francis Mendy in his intervention said Bakoteh Community through their committment to development of their ward have positively responded to the president's call for attitudinal change. He urged then to continue supporting their councillor in his projects for the development of Bakoteh.

The ceremony was also attended by the Imam and Alkalo of Bakoteh and other elders.

The Councillor of Bakoteh Ward Mr. Yusupha Sanyang who chaired the ceremony gave a vote of thanks.
