Malang who was born on 18th February 1988, is now attending the Sukuta Upper Basic School. This academic year he is in grade 9. His subjects are: English, Mathematics, General Science, Agricultural Science, Social & Environmental Studies and Arts & Craft. His best subjects are English, Mathematics and General Science.

His hobbies are reading and playing football. He aims to be a scientist or footballer in the future. He is a very good midfielder and spends his Sunday afternoon playing soccer with his friends. His love for this game is remarkable!

Malang's dad who worked at a hospital came home ill one day. From that moment he has never recovered from this illness. For the past 17 years he has been a psychiatric patient. Malang's mom and dad are still married, but the mother left the compound a few years ago after not being able to cope with this situation anymore. His grandfather, whom he loved very much, passed away in April 2002.

Since then it has become extremely difficult to continue school and he was almost forced to quit school due to finances. To get support in his education, Kabs introduced him to GTS. Ylanga Blinker aka "Soulsisa African Pride", who was on vacation in The Gambia in June 2002, asked Kabs to find her a kid who is in need of help. Within 24 hours Malang Tude Sanneh was in front of her and that was the beginning of a golden opportunity.

Over the years Ylanga takes the opportunity to make some minor changes in his life to make things easier. After Ylanga's mom, who was in The Gambia in October 2004, asked Malang how he traveled to school, he replied by foot. He traveled three hours long by foot to attend school. After hearing this, the mom told Ylanga to buy him a bicycle. Together the three of them, along with the taxi driver, went to Westfield and Malang got the opportunity to choose a bicycle. He chose one, but Ylanga was not satisfied with it because it was not really hype. When she asked him if he didn't want the mountain bike, that was next to the one he chose, his face just enlightened and he said YES! It was fantastic for her to see that she put a smile on his face.

To be able to make ends meet Ylanga also bought him a dozen of chairs which he rents out to the local community on occasions. With this money he can buy himself lunch at school and it also helps his family in the daily costs.

Ylanga on Malang: Malang is a sweet young man who is really trying his utmost best at school. Every time he shines with his report cards which really pleases me. He is a person who doesn't ask for things and is trying hard with whatever he gets. He is my golden child, a child everyone would wish for and would love to have to brighten up their life. I love my son with all my heart & soul and will do anything in my power for him to make it in life.

My motto in this is: teach him how to fish rather then give him a fish. He is my KING and I love treating him like that too! He is attending Sukuta Upper Basic School in grade 10 this academic year.
