Camels & Planes

Camels are not native to the Gambia, but these at Tanji seem at home - If you come to Tanji don't miss the Tanji Village Museum - it really is
"the best in The Gambia"

At Tanji, a small fishing village, there is a Camel Safari along the coast, trips can be various lengths - GTS can arrange transport and refreshments. You can follow your ride with an extended visit to the fishing villages and smoke houses. Followed by a trip to the excellent Tanji Village Museum.

Some tourists want to visit Senegal, this can be done by hiring a 4WD. It can be done in a day at a push, but it is probably better to stay the night.

Or fly from Banjul International Airport to Dakar the capital of Senegal. The flight is interesting and takes about 20 minutes.

Planes fly to other African locations, but Senegal is close and very different - GTS can arrange your transport to and from Banjul Airport and if necessary help with ticket and booking arrangements
