Bush bus - Multi seat minibus

Taxi prices do go up periodically, just ask and you will be told the standard fare.

See News pages for details of new fares

Mainly Yellow and Green cars, but some multiple-seat vans, Geli-Geli's

The condition of these vehicles is variable, most would not be allowed on UK roads. The local people use them all the time, there are fixed prices per person for anywhere on the route.

It is always easiest to get in at the staring point rather than part way down the route as these vehicles seldom leave until they are full, so to be picked up on the route means someone must have got out.

This is the way to meet the real local people. Some will take a curious interest in you but will almost never bother you or ask for charity, there is usually at least one person who will speak some English and will enjoy practising it with you.

Having the correct change for the journey is always a good idea

If you use a Bush Bus later in the evening, you must negotiate a price for your journey, do not expect it to be the standard 4D, it could be 25D or more

A GTS host will show you where the main terminus points are if you ask, this is a great way to travel around. Some will offer their services for the whole day for local trips - ask a price and haggle.
