Page After the nightmares with the charter flights with Red Air and more recently with Sierra National it is good to welcome a new UK based company offering higher service and more comfort to passengers flying to Gambia. At present the service is only from Gatwick and the planes will sometimes be used by Gambia Experience for charter passengers, but it appears that the Monarch flights will continue to be GE's main charter carrier. For the background on Red Air and Sierra National see the pages below.. PLEASE NOTE these are old pages AND neither RedAir nor Sierra National are offering any flights to Gambia Comments to GTS |
Astraeus has been flying charted flights to Gambia this season and visitors have commented on the high level of service, From May 2006 the airline will be flying morning flights from Gatwick on Tuesdays and on Fridays they will leave Gatwick at 3.30 in the afternoon, the return flights will leave Banjul Tuesday at 3.30pm and Fridays at 10pm. There are two standards Economy and Star class, both appear to offer more seat room than on the charter planes and a higher level of service. Standard luggage allowance is 30Kg and for Star class passengers 40Kg. Prices are in line with current 'flight only' prices - maybe a little higher. Unlike the ill fated Sierra National and RedAir companies this is a UK based organisation - their main booking agents are Gambia Experience Visit their website for further information and prices www.astraeusgambia.com or call 0845 330 2080 for reservations email: flights@astraeusgambia.com Everyone who visits Gambia on a regular basis must be welcoming this new service and wishing them good fortune and a long business life. 5 Top
